Circle of Support 3 rd Annual Party Enriches the Season

When 24 young ladies from Circle of Support marched into Lynn Erickson's home in Plano in early December for the annual Advent celebration, the meaning of Christmas became even clearer. Acknowledgement of the birth of the Kind of Kings, sharing of food and fun and a loving attitude, hope for the future and growing friendships were all apparent. Mentors and teens from King of Glory helped host the In the City of Good and Circle of Support evening.

Moms, volunteers and the girls from King of Glory poured punch, served plates of spaghetti an lasagna and helped with crafts. Some very fine gingerbread houses, purses with initials and book marks were constructed by the young women from South Dallas who are part of Circle of Support and In the City for Good's outreach program.

Older girls such as Keanna Bullard, a junior, reflect the high ideals of the Circle of Support is that it is showing her a way up and out, providing job training that will help her to have a solid future. Natasha Moss is a pretty, quite girl who is planning a career as a Registered Nurse. She has five siblings. Younger girls in the group such as Sheterical Young, a student at Pearl C. Anderson Middle School, is a poet who already understand the importance of education.

Bernadette Nutall, Diane Robinson and Delanie Thomas volunteer time and talent to the girls' quest for a better life. Mrs. Nutall and Mrs. Robinson are co-executive Directors of the organization which is five years old.

Circle of Support is one of the shining opportunities for King Glory members to get involved in outreach. The goal of the Circle is to provide a viable, structured and comprehensive program tailored to serve the needs of African American girls aged 6 to 13 in the Frazier Court Housing Development. What the involves for you is volunteering one night a month at King of Glory to help mentor, tutor, have devotional studies, fellowship and fun with a youngster.

Theses girls have obstacles in their lives that it could not have imagined and the relationship with King of Glory women has fulfilled their needs on many levels.
